Linebacker Adam Bighill came to the Saints last season via the circuitous route of the Canadian Football League. He quickly became a fan favorite being a little on the smaller side and an obvious underdog. On Monday, however, he was cut by the Saints to make room for some new signees following the weekend’s rookie minicamp.
There’s a lot to like about the underdog story. But, with Bighill, the climb was just too steep. So steep, in fact, that in a piece I released on Monday, prior to Bighill being cut, I barely mentioned him when talking about the state of the Saints linebacker corps.
