The Saints running back room has lots of potential, however, outside of Alvin Kamara, they are unproven. Recently, the entire rushing attack has been through Kamara. This trend can’t continue as he is now 29 years old.
The Saints need someone to step up to take some pressure off of him. It’s necessary they avoid their worst case scenario of Kamara bearing the weight of the entire running game. In addition to aging, Kamara has also dealt with injuries recently. Getting reliable production from another running back will lessen the wear and tear on their stars.
Some of Kamara’s most efficient and best seasons came when he was paired with Mark Ingram or Latavius Murray.
