Questions were answered on Sunday for the New Orleans Saints but gutsy calls and clutch plays by the Raiders proved too much to overcome as they fell 35-34 to Derek Carr and company in the 2016 season opener. Ultimately, though the Saints defense looked improved to a degree, however, the big plays and untimely penalties that have haunted them in the past were back to put the kibosh on things once again.
After going 0-4 in the preseason and seeing the powerful Saints offense sputter there were many questions about how the players and coaching staff would perform in week one’s regular season debut.
