The New Orleans Saints are releasing, waiving, and maybe trading dozens of players ahead of Saturday’s 3 p.m. CDT deadline to submit an opening-day roster. Just 53 players will find themselves on that list. Here’s what’s been reported so far (updated as more news rolls in):
- The Saints released return specialist Brandon Tate. While Tommylee Lewis appears to have won the competition for this roster spot, don’t forget about Tate just yet. This move could be financial, as Tate’s 2018 salary would have been fully guaranteed had he made the opening-day roster.
