Saints' Delvin Breaux more than a feel-good story entering his second NFL season

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. -- Delvin Breaux is nearly 10 years removed from having his McDonogh 35 jersey cut off him in an emergency room after sustaining three broken vertebrae in his neck during a high school game his senior year.

The improbable return back to football for the New Orleans Saints cornerback remains with him still today. You can't totally shake off something that threatened your livelihood.

Breaux is not one to dwell on the injury and the aftermath too often. He couldn't play at LSU. He clawed through semi-pro football, the Arena League and the Canadian Football League.
