Saints cut Armstrong, Zenner and Barrett opening roster spots and speculation

It was announced by the Saints on Tuesday night, Oct. 22, that the team was parting ways with LB Ray-Ray Armstrong, RB Zach Zenner and QB J.T. Barrett. That opens up two spots on the 53-man roster and one on the practice squad. No corresponding moves were announced, and that got some speculation started on social media.

The cuts could all be expected. J.T. Barrett had been cut by the team even prior to the preseason and failed to catch on with the Seattle Seahawks. He was brought back when Drew Brees went down as insurance at quarterback.
