Saints continue surveying free agent cornerbacks, try out Captain Munnerlyn

The New Orleans Saints need help in the secondary. They’re dealing with a number of injuries to key players like cornerbacks Eli Apple and Patrick Robinson, and safety J.T. Gray. Starting slot corner P.J. Williams is suspended for next Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, though he’ll be eligible to return when the Saints go into their bye week afterwards.

To that end, they’ve brought in veteran free agents like Kayvon Webster, and now Captain Munnerlyn. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Munnerlyn was meeting with the Saints on Tuesday. He’s someone they’ve seen often over the years; the only other team Munnerlyn has played more than the Saints (14 times) is the Atlanta Falcons (16), who New Orleans hosts after their bye week.
