Maybe one special teams miscue is all it takes to get far enough in Sean Payton’s doghouse to get cut. Maybe it’s the return of Mark Ingram and a roster spot had to be opened anyway. But a mere week after being resigned by the Saints, wide receiver/return specialist Brandon Tate has been released.
Tate had looked great as a return man during preseason after being added to the Saints roster half way through August. In fact, he was considered by most to be in the lead to take return duties heading into the regular season before being cut in favor of Tommylee Lewis.
