First the good news. On Tuesday, Sep. 25, word came out that the Saints would be bringing back wide receiver Brandon Tate. The bad news is that a roster spot has opened up because nickel cornerback Patrick Robinson has been placed on injured reserve with a broken ankle. In that vein, it was also announced that the Saints would be working out cornerback David Amerson today.
Bringing back Brandon Tate is in response to Tommylee Lewis being placed on IR last week. Honestly, for most Saints fans and media, it was a surprise when Tate was released at final cuts in favor of Tommylee Lewis.
