With cornerback PJ Williams serving a two-game suspension for his January DUI arrest, the Saints had one open roster spot to be filled. They created another opening with the release today, Wednesday, Oct. 16, of reserve linebacker Stephone Anthony. PJ Williams’ spot was filled with the temporary addition of veteran tight end Brian Parker and Anthony’s by veteran running back Zach Zenner.
Going up against a tough Chicago defense on the road this Sunday in Week 7, the addition of another blocking tight end and a sturdy, between the tackles running back with modest pass-catching skills makes sense.
