In our third mock draft this year, we had the Saints taking Porter Gustin in the fifth round. We got a lot of comments about that one saying he wouldn’t be around that late. We considered him in the second round at one point as the need for depth at defensive end still looms large as a major issue for this team. In our final mock, we had the Saints taking him in the seventh round with their last pick. Why so high and why so low? Why were we so sure the Saints would go after him when he wasn’t on anybody else’s radar?
