The New Orleans Saints gave their players a day off on Tuesday after a week of training camp practices, so it’s a great opportunity to reevaluate where various position groups stand. It’s also time for a new roster projection, so we’ve gone through the depth chart and made our best guess at who will be wearing black and gold in Week 1 of the regular season.
It isn’t easy doing this just as a thought exercise; the Saints will have some serious debates in-house when it’s time to make their roster cuts at the deadline. Half the players they released before training camp have already caught on with other teams, and the Saints will have to be judicious when trying to build their own practice squad.
