Safety in Numbers: Saints sign Rickey Jefferson to futures contract

The New Orleans Saints continue to mold their 2018 offseason roster, signing their fifth player to a futures contract on Monday. Former LSU safety Rickey Jefferson will be joining his hometown team next season, per Times-Picayune writer Josh Katzenstein.

Jefferson had 30 game appearances for the Tigers, where he finished his college career posting 88 tackles, eight pass defections and four interceptions. His senior year was cut short due to injury and he appeared in only five games.

He was not invited to the 2017 NFL Combine although he did participate in LSU’s Pro Day where he posted a 4.
