Safety Roman Harper said "it's a cool deal" that he was honored as the New Orleans Saints' Walter Payton Man of the Year candidate -- especially since his friends and former teammates Thomas Davis and Charles Tillman won the NFL's league-wide award in recent years.
"I guess it means we’re doing some good things," said Harper, who returned to the Saints this year after spending the last two years with the Carolina Panthers. "Wherever I’m at I just try to make it better than when I first showed up."
Harper has primarily played special teams this year after returning to New Orleans, where he also spent his first eight seasons from 2006-2013 and was named to two Pro Bowls.
