It’s been quite a ride for the New Orleans Saints this season. Before Week 1 even began the team was an afterthought in NFL power rankings, and they were supposed to be looking up at their division rivals in the NFC South.
No one could be blamed for thinking the Saints would struggle once more. After all, the team went 7-9 for three consecutive years. Sean Payton and Drew Brees had seemingly lost their magic, and the defense was young and unproven.
After an 0-2 start it appeared New Orleans was headed for yet another underachieving year, but something began to change Week 3 and a different team emerged from the ashes.
