Changes are coming to the New Orleans Saints coaching staff, specifically their special teams unit. Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network first reported that Darren Rizzi, former Miami Dolphins special teams coordinator, was connected to an opening for the same position with the Saints. Her peer at NFL Network, Ian Rapoport, later confirmed that New Orleans made such an offer to Rizzi.
Josh Katzenstein of the Advocate reported details of the Saints’ in-house developments: veteran special teams consultant Mike Westhoff would not be returning for the 2019 season after his contract expired, along with assistant special teams coach Kevin O’Dea.
