Report: Saints worked out 4 free agent right tackles

The New Orleans Saints offensive line is in dire straits in the leadup to their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with injuries sidelining starters Terron Armstead and Max Unger, and sixth man Jermon Bushrod. New Orleans added free agent offensive tackle Derek Newton earlier in December, but they hosted four more candidates in a Dec. 19 tryout.

Per Howard Balzer of NFLDraftScout.com, the Saints put offensive tackles Nick Becton, Cornelius Lucas, and Menelik Watson through a workout along with offensive guard John Fullington. None of them were immediately signed.

Nick Becton spent time on the practice squads and 90-man summer rosters for several different teams: the then-San Diego Chargers, New York Giants (twice), New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Kansas City Chiefs.
