Last week, there was a lot of noise over free agent quarterback Ryan Nassib working out for the Dallas Cowboys. It looks like there was actually another NFC team in pursuit of the signal caller who spent four years as Eli Manning’s backup.
The Saints are creating a crowded group behind starter Drew Brees. Earlier in the offseason they inked former back Chase Daniel. The club also has 2015 third-round pick Garrett Grayson under contract. As Daniel signed just a one-year deal, Grayson is the only quarterback under contract beyond 2017.
Nassib hasn’t seen any game action since 2015, but his stats in limited mop up duty aren’t bad at all.
