According to sources, the New Orleans Saints are signing tight end Chris Manhertz to replace Michael Egnew, who was reportedly waived by the team Monday morning. The Saints signed Egnew last week, but he did not play in Saturday’s preseason game versus the New England Patriots.
Manhertz, a Canisius College product and former basketball player, stands 6-foot-6, weighing in at 255 pounds. He continues to adjust to the sport of football, never playing the game and with his only experience coming from the Madden video game, according to The Buffalo News.
