New Orleans police are investigating a fatal accident involving a railroad worker who found dead after he was hit by a train in eastern New Orleans Saturday morning (Feb. 20.) Authorities have not yet identified the 55-year-old man.
The accident occurred about 6:22 a.m. on the Norfolk Southern rail line along Lake Pontchartrain near Hayne Boulevard and Mercier Street.
NOPD listed the case as an unclassified death, pending the outcome of an autopsy. Stay with NOLA.com for more on this story.
