Railroad worker hit by train, killed in eastern New Orleans

New Orleans police are investigating a fatal accident involving a railroad worker who found dead after he was hit by a train in eastern New Orleans Saturday morning (Feb. 20.) Authorities have not yet identified the 55-year-old man.

The accident occurred about 6:22 a.m. on the Norfolk Southern rail line along Lake Pontchartrain near Hayne Boulevard and Mercier Street.
