The New England Patriots added former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cameron Meredith on Friday, per a report from Jim McBride of the Boston Globe. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network later confirmed the signing. The addition followed Meredith’s free agent tryout with New England, and came after the Saints cut Mereidth earlier this week, incurring $3.25 million in dead money payouts and freeing up roughly $900,000 in spending room beneath the salary cap.
Meredith struggled to get on the field for the Saints in his year-or-so in town, still recuperating from a career-threatening knee injury in 2017 when he played for the Chicago Bears.
