NFL Week 1: Game balls for New Orleans Saints' win over Texans

The New Orleans Saints did it all in their Week 1 victory over the Houston Texans. They overcame a double-digit halftime deficit, retook the lead, lost it, and took it again to close out the game with a field goal that felt like it was kicked from a mile away.

And it was every bit a team effort, with the offense, defense, and special teams units each doing their part to seal a thrilling win. Here’s the five players who earned a game ball this week for stellar individual performances.

Alvin Kamara, running back

The first game in the post-Mark Ingram era was a barnburner for Kamara, who was as lethal on the ground (97 rushing yards off of just 13 carries) as he was through the air (catching 7 passes for 72 yards), using his exceptional vision, body control, and balance to bob and weave between Texans defenders and sometimes run right into and through them.
