NFL reinstates Carl Granderson, grants Saints two-week roster exemption

The New Orleans Saints may have some reinforcements on the way early in the regular season. Rookie pass rusher Carl Granderson was reinstated on Saturday with an Exempt/Commissioner Permission roster exemption. This gives him two weeks to practice and work with the Saints before they must choose to promote him to the active, 53-man roster or waive and sign him to their practice squad. He had been listed on the Reserve/Did Not Report List after missing the start of training camp while incarcerated.

This follows Granderson’s changed sentencing in Wyoming court; accused of molesting two women at his off-campus apartment last November, he was initially sentenced to six months in jail back in July before his case was handed off to a new judge.
