Ever since Drew Brees announced his return, it was obvious that the New Orleans Saints were going to welcome him back with open arms. Well, that return will undoubtedly force Teddy Bridgewater to head elsewhere.
Why?
Well, part of it is that Bridgewater will want to be a starting quarterback.
Time is running out for the 27-year-old who led the Saints to a flawless 5-0 during the 2019 season. Bridgewater stepped is a Brees was out with a thumb injury. He started Week 3 through Week 7, winning all five appearances.
Another reason is that the money that it would take to bring Bridgewater back to the Big Easy just isn’t there this offseason.
