METAIRIE, La. -- It was Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman who initiated trade talks earlier this month, according to New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis.
“He had three first-round picks, and he was looking to shift one to next year,” Loomis explained.
But it should come as no surprise that Roseman found a willing trade partner in the always-aggressive Saints, who now hold picks No. 16 and 19 in Round 1 of this week's NFL draft (starting Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, ABC and the ESPN App) after trading away their 2023 first-rounder, among other picks.
