The draft is now under a week away and mock draft fatigue has decidedly set in for a lot of fans. That being said, mock drafts are still widely read, viewed and discussed. For the draft enthusiasts, known as “draftniks”, they’re the bread and butter of this part of the offseason. For others, they’re a pointless exercise meaning absolutely nothing.
As a writer focused on the New Orleans Saints, as well as being a draftnik, it’s a time when I get to pretend I’m Mickey Loomis for a little while. And when I put together a mock draft I’m half thinking what the Saints will do and half thinking what I feel they should do.
