New Orleans is ready: public banners, signs welcome NFC championship game

New Orleans is a football city with few rivals. The Who Dat Nation rally behind their New Orleans Saints, engaging in trash talk between public officials and decorating every inch of the city.

The Causeway that stretches across Lake Pontchartrain lit up its traffic advisory signs with a big message for its commuters: “Drive like a Saint to avoid getting Ram’d.” Causeway bridge general manager Carlton Dufrechou credited the idea to one of his employees, and raved about the public response to WWL. Estimates suggest 12 million commuters pass through the five-mile Causeway every year, and about 43,000 each day.
