Jets sign former Saints first-rounder Stephone Anthony

Former New Orleans Saints first-round draft pick Stephone Anthony found a new team on Tuesday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Anthony signed a contract with the New York Jets, joining the coaches he played for with the Miami Dolphins the last few years — head coach Adam Gase and linebackers coach Joe Vitt, who was on the Saints staff that first drafted Anthony back in 2015.

Anthony was traded to Miami after losing his starting job in New Orleans; widespread turnover on the coaching staff before the 2017 season demoted him to a role limited to special teams appearances, and he struggled to handle bigger responsibilities with the Dolphins after joining them.
