The New Orleans Saints lost cornerback and New Orleans native Arthur Maulet to the New York Jets, per Maulet’s representatives at ICON Sports Consulting. Maulet initially made the Saints’ opening-day roster in 2018, was waived, and returned late in the season to the Saints practice squad. Now he’ll get a chance to compete for a spot on the 2019 Jets roster, having signed a reserve/futures contract.
It appears the Saints were willing to let Maulet evaluate his options. They reported six of their own reserve/futures contract signings after the season ended, and all six players were former members of the practice squad such as quarterback J.
