Jairus Byrd, De'Vante Harris experience diminished roles in Saints' win

SAN DIEGO – The New Orleans Saints notched the first win of the season Sunday with a 35-34 comeback win over the San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium.

While there was a victory on the field, some players lost playing time as the Saints tweaked roles, including safety Jairus Byrd giving way to rookie Vonn Bell in the starting lineup.

"Our No. 1 personnel group was probably more three-safety look in this game, and then Byrd got hurt on the interception," coach Sean Payton said during his postgame press conference. "So, there were a lot of different packages trying to match their personnel.
