Eugene Parker, one of the NFL's most prominent and prolific sports agents, died Thursday night at the age of 60 after a battle with cancer.
Parker represented NFL stars spanning multiple eras, and he had two New Orleans Saints players on his client list: safety Jairus Byrd and running back Tim Hightower.
Parker advised Byrd when he negotiated a huge deal with the Saints before the 2014 season.
Byrd tweeted Friday morning: "I lost the greatest agent ever, a father figure and friend... It was always bigger than The game of football with him.
