The New Orleans Saints saw their 2017 season slipping away in front of their eyes. Starting off 0-2 makes it extremely difficult to make the playoffs. Starting 0-3 makes it damn near impossible. The Saints had to travel to Carolina, where the Panthers defense had only given up three points over the first two weeks of the season to avoid that fate. They did that, and then some. To the tune of 34-13, New Orleans earned their first win of the season.
Behind a defensive performance in line with the hope they infused in the fan base over the offseason, New Orleans intercepted Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton three times.
