There was a lot of talk last offseason about the Saints possibly going after Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield. That was when the Saints were sitting with the 27th pick and nobody was sure how the quarterbacks were going to shake out in the 2018 NFL Draft. This year, the talk is centering around West Virginia’s Will Grier.
And there’s a solid reason for that. The Saints may have resigned Teddy Bridgewater, but his contract is only for a year again, as it was last year, and if Drew Brees isn’t done, Teddy is likely going to want to go somewhere he can start.
