In the piece from Chris Roling, the potential retirement of Drew Brees was identified as the one the Saints will be dealing with. Again. And it’s an accurate assessment.
Somehow we’ve avoided hearing as much about it as we have in years past. Maybe it’s because we hear it every year and have grown numb to the prospect. The talk has been around since Brees was, what, 35? And he just keeps going.
Brees is in the second year of a two-year, $50 million deal with a voided third year in 2020 in which he would become an unrestricted free agent.
