Former Pelicans guard Nate Robinson hoping to become first NBA player to play in NFL

Veteran NBA guard Nate Robinson lasted two weeks with the New Orleans Pelicans before they waived him last October to clear a roster spot for journeyman Toney Douglas.

Instead of trying to catch on with another team, Robinson has a more challenging objective he wants to achieve. He wants to become the first NBA player to make the jump to the NFL.

In an video interview by The Big Lead, Robinson said he hasn't played football in 11 or 12 years but he knows how to tackle and play.

''If someone gave me a real opportunity, I know I could play,'' Robinson said.
