NFL linebacker Sean Weatherspoon found something unexpected as he prepared for a move back to Atlanta to rejoin the Falcons -- an uncashed game check.
Weatherspoon, who signed with the Falcons again after he played one season with the Arizona Cardinals, said his fiancee found the check as she packed.
He told ESPN the check was dated Sept. 18, which was the first check dated after the Cardinals' Week 1 win against the New Orleans Saints.
That check, based on his $2.35 million base salary, would have amounted to about $138,235.

"I'm not sure why it wasn't directly deposited like all my other checks," he said in a text to ESPN.
