From the ESPN Press Room on Wednesday, Jun 19, ESPN’s full list of finalists for the 2019 ESPYS was released. Saints quarterback Drew Brees is a finalist in two categories. He’s the only Saints player to be nominated this year. Last year it was Saints running back Alvin Kamara who was nominated for Best Breakthrough Athlete but lost to Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz. But Brees has a long history with the awards program going back to his college days in 2001.
The categories in which Drew Brees has been nominated this year are Best Record Breaking Performance and Best NFL Player.
