Cowboys explain why staffer was on Saints sideline

New Orleans Saints fans have been in uproar ever since the FOX broadcast captured sight of someone in a Dallas Cowboys polo shirt standing on the Saints sideline during their game, within arm’s reach of head coach Sean Payton and carrying a cell phone. Conspiracy theories swirled, not helped by defensive end Cameron Jordan’s frustrated in-game taunts to officials: “You’re in [Cowboys owner Jerry Jone]’s World, you’re playing by Jerry’s rules, right?”

The Cowboys came up with an explanation on Saturday, per Mike Florio of NBC Sports. Dallas explains that the man seen wearing home team gear on the visiting team sideline is an ordinary liaison between the video board operators and network broadcast staff:
