Chauncey Gardner-Johnson ready to get to work, be a great teammate

New Orleans Saints rookie Chauncey Gardner-Johnson supposedly fell in the 2019 NFL Draft due to poor interviews with teams, but he’s not shown anything to be worried about in the early days of his pro career. The fourth-round pick was very forthcoming during media availability following Saints rookie minicamp.

“I gotta work for it,” Gardner-Johnson told Sharief Ishaq of WDSU-New Orleans. “The corner (position) is deep itself, so I’m just here to work. It’s not enough to get drafted, as coach (Sean Payton) says, it doesn’t matter how you get here. I’m just ready to get out there and work, compete with the guys.
