The New England Patriots picked up free agent wide receiver Cameron Meredith, who was waived by the New Orleans Saints earlier this week. Meredith has struggled to bounce back from a disastrous 2017 knee injury, back when he played for the Chicago Bears, and it’s still dogged him into 2019. It will take him a few days to get up to speed with the Patriots, so they’ve placed him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list while he continues to recover. Meredith’s PUP designation was listed on the official league transactions wire.
He’ll join a number of other injured Patriots wideouts on the sideline, along with Super Bowl hero Julian Edleman (nursing a finger injury) and free agent acquisition Demaryius Thomas (recovering from Achilles surgery).
