New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson was recognized for his charitable efforts, receiving the honor of Week 17 NFLPA Community MVP. The NFL Players Association selected a different nominee for each week of the NFL regular season, and ended the year with Watson, who raised $100,000 to donate to 15 different charitable organizations with his “Freedom Friday” campaign. Watson is one of several Saints who have been active in charity off the field, using their platforms to fight for causes important to them.
