The New Orleans Saints had a good idea of who wouldn’t be available for their Week 7 clash with the Chicago Bears even before they took the field for pregame warmups on Sunday. With a rash of injuries hitting franchise fixtures like quarterback Drew Brees and running back Alvin Kamara (as well as important role players such as pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, tight end Jared Cook, and wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith), their eight-man inactive list was already fairly decided.
Still, a handful of other players have to join them on the sidelines as teams slim their 53-man rosters down to just 48 active participants for game days.
