It's official, the defense of the New Orleans Saints has improved significantly since last year, but that's not really something to be proud of.
The Saints' defense last season effectively set the bar at the floor, as they were ranked 30th in the league by the end of the season. That's probably why when Kellen Moore was brought on as the head coach, one of the first hires he made was Brandon Staley, a former defensive coordinator and head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Staley, who was hired back in February, hoped to turn things around right away.
