More than 1,100 players are being waived, released, traded, or otherwise let by all 32 NFL teams on Saturday. Reports are still filtering in, and teams won’t have much time to scour the waiver wire for pickups. Here’s five players the New Orleans Saints should consider bringing in off the street.
WR Deontay Burnett, Tennessee Titans
Burnett was a reliable option in college and during the preseason, catching all 11 of his targets over four games, but wasn’t kept on the opening-day roster per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. He’s got a slighter build than you’d prefer at the NFL level (6-foot-0, 186-pounds) but the Saints haven’t shied away from smaller receivers like Tommylee Lewis and Austin Carr.
