NFL MVP Candidate Drew Brees Breaks Passing Record (video)

Goodbye Dan Marino, hello Drew Brees, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. Monday was a great night for Brees because not only did the New Orleans Saints defeat the Atlanta Falcons 45-16, but he also broke Dan Marino's single season passing record.

Marino, who had held the title for over 27 years, with the record of 5,084 passing yards for the Miami Dolphins in 1984, said goodbye to his cherised record. On the final pass of the game, Brees set the new passing record of 5,087 yards with a TD pass to Darren Sproles.

This record gives him a chance for the NFL MVP title, but it doesn't guarantee it. Take a look at how he was able to break Marino's record and gain a chance for MVP with this video of the record breaking pass.
