Zion Williamson announced via Instagram yesterday that he has signed on to become the newest face of Nike’s Jordan Brand, ending one of the most awaited sneaker sagas in recent history.
Williamson’s deal with the Air Jordan brand of basketball shoes, which sport the famous Jumpman logo, is reportedly in the neighborhood of seven years and $75-million. If true, this would mark the richest rookie shoe contract since LeBron James signed with Nike for about $87 million over the same number of years back in 2003.
During the 2019-20 season, Williamson will secure $9,757,440 in salary from his rookie-scale contract with New Orleans, meanwhile the former Duke phenom is now set to draw an additional $10,714,285 through his endorsement with Jordan.
