The Pelicans need something to alter their defense which is regressing at light speed. They are currently ranked 24th worst in the league and aside from their last game against the Magic, have shown little signs of improvement.
With a trade seeming unlikely, the only possible saving grace is the return of Tony Allen and even that is not for another few weeks. However, with the playoffs in the balance, it is necessary to dissect every area the Pelicans could possibly improve.
Allen is obviously touted as a great defensive player and for much of this season, his hustle has been huge for the Pelicans.
