The offseason is still young, but the New Orleans Pelicans most likely will not be undergoing a complete rebuild during the league’s extended break from basketball action. Key contributors, Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, are likely setting sail for a distant land, but the vast majority of the major pieces will, presumably, be around for the 2016-17 season. With that in mind, how should the Pelicans approach the draft?
To put it simply, the Pelicans should base their decisions around need. Unlike most other lottery bound franchises, the Pelicans are not hunting for the next Anthony Davis.
