Tyreke Evans likely to play against Charlotte, minutes may be reduced

Despite a bothersome right knee that required October surgery and caused him to leave Wednesday’s win at Sacramento in the first quarter, New Orleans guard Tyreke Evans is expected to play Friday vs. Charlotte. However, Pelicans first-year head coach Alvin Gentry said Evans may start seeing reduced minutes, in an effort to keep the wing player healthy.

“More than likely, he will (play),” Gentry said of Friday’s home game against the Hornets. “With him and his knee in the situation it is, I’m going to try to keep him for less minutes than I’ve had him (play), to see if that will help at all.
