After some uncertainty earlier in the day, New Orleans (14-22) will have Tyreke Evans available to play Thursday vs. Atlanta, while the Pelicans’ newest player may wait until an upcoming five-game road trip to begin contributing on the floor.
Roughly an hour prior to tip-off, Evans’ status was changed to “expected to play”; Evans had been listed throughout the afternoon as questionable due to back spasms. Meanwhile, in his third day as a Pelican, Donatas Motiejunas worked out on the Smoothie King Center court, but may be held out of game action until Saturday’s visit to Boston.
“(Evans) was going to go out and work out and stretch a little bit, and then see where the situation was,” Gentry noted of the guard, prior to Evans being OK’d to play.
